Domain Administrator Definitions
Alias is an account that automatically send a received email to multiple recipients. Aliases are commonly used to create generic accounts such as info@, sales@, billing@, etc.
Mailbox is an email account.
Please note an alias and a mailbox can be identical. Example, billing@ but either be an alias or a mailbox not both.
Domain Administrator Instructions
Open a browser and go to http://mail.your_domain.com/admin/login.php
This is also available from the web mail login and is Labeled Email Administrator Access
Email address and password are the same as your account.
Click Login
After successful login, please find 7 gray boxes across the top and a welcome message.
Change passwords, Delete accounts, Update alias information, and Review account status
Click on Overview, this is an overview your domain(s) activity.
The domain list is all the domains you have administrative privileges.
The aliases list will always have a minimum of 4.
These are standard domain aliases please leave them in place.
The mailboxes list includes all email accounts under your domain.
Click on the domain you wish to update.
You will now see the detail for Aliases and Mailboxes.
Under Alias on the Far Right side, an administrator can click
Edit – to update recipients
Del - to delete
Under Mailboxes on the Far Right side, an administrator can click
Under Active – Yes or No
Edit – to change a password
Del – to delete
Set-up an email account
Click on Add Mailbox
Type in the desired username.
Select the desired domain from the drop down menu.
If you have 1 domain this is automatically selected.
Type in the desired password.
Re-type the desired password.
We recommend a password that is at least 3 characters or more, preferable 6 to 8.
We suggest an alpha-numeric password.
Passwords are Case sensitive.
Type in the name of the person using the account.
Active and Create Mailbox are and should remain checked.
Click Add Mailbox.
The page will reload with either details regarding errors or a successful creation message.
Please update the information if any errors occur and try adding the mailbox again.
Set-up an alias account
Click on Add Alias
Type in the desired alias
Select the desired domain from the drop down menu.
If you have 1 domain this is automatically selected.
Type in desired recipient’s full email address (including domain).
At this point only 1 recipient can be entered.
Click on Overview
Click on the domain you wish to update.
Find the alias you wish to update
Click on edit
Alias recipients are listed within the box
One email address per line
Enter the full email address.
Click Edit Alias.
The page will reload and return to the domain overview detail.
